Recipe development, styling and photography

Nomnomnom

In 2021 I wrote, styled and photographed my first cookbook, Nomnomnom. It was published and released in the Netherlands and Belgium via Fontaine Publishers in late August 2021. It was well-received across all print and online media in both the Netherlands and Belgium, and saw a reprint within 2 weeks of its release and was nominated for various awards.

Tummie Magazine #2

For the Tummie Magazine ‘heat’ issue I developed a chipotle chocolate mousse and shot it alongside Cathy Erway’s spicy chili crisp peanut brittle. It also included a short introduction as to why I wanted to create something subtly spicy rather than something overtly hot. The image was shortlisted for a Pink Lady Food Photographer of the Year 2022 award.

Bob Ross Glossy – Museum MORE

For the Bob Ross Glossy that was published in celebration of the Bob Ross exhibition at Museum MORE, I developed a Bob Rösti recipe with accompanying photography. The photo and recipe can also be found in my first cookbook Nomnomnom.

Writing

Whetstone Magazine

In the summer of 2021 I worked on an article for Whetstone Magazine, The Island of Indisch: Stuck in Time. It was published in the spring 2022 Volume 9 issue and featured an image by the amazing Sarah Arnoff Yeoman and was published in translation in summer 2023 by The Dutch Review of Books.

Writing and Photography

Cheese Mag

In summer 2021 I worked on an article on the lovely Annie Fromage for Cheese Mag Issue 3, which included both a profile on Annie as well as a portrait of her and her cheeses.

Photography

Kitchen Table Magazine

In the summer of 2021 I shot the cover for Kitchen Table Magazine issue #4. The theme of the issue was hope, focusing on hope ‘post’ pandemic. I tried to convey a sense of hope through a growing sprout of tomato. In 2024 I will be featured in the pages of Kitchen Table Magazine again, with a translated recipe and photograph from Nomnomnom.
